(UPI) Whittier, CA. Last Saturday Night the Whittier Radisson Hotel was transformed into a kingdom of Magic and joy; the joy that comes from when friends gather to celebrate a milestone in one’s life – one’s day of birth. A day when friends and family remind us of how young and handsome and beautiful we still are and that are AARP card membership just arrived in the mail and how we earned the right of passage to “do it our way”, according to Ole Blue Eyes. Well Mario Avitar Vargas did it up with class and style. Oh, not because he had a private sweet at the Radisson, nor was it because we was wearing an Italian suit or reserved a VIP section for his guests, but because Mario is a - what you see is what you get type of guy. Mario has a class that comes from within, a class that is earned by friendship, care and concern given to others. And so we gathered on this day to celebrate with our good friend and reminisce the days we met as friends at the Mexican Café in Covina or shared a beer at Circus. We each can remember where we first met a long time friend.
Much thanks to the management at the Radisson for hosting this celebration, to all the deejays: Marco Time, Joe MD and all the djs, to all the family and friends, Dj Mike Enchantment, Maria, Alfred and Carmen, Al and MaryAnn, Javier and the whole tribe.
Some say:
For what is a man? What has he got? If not himself - Then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows And did it my way.
Yes, it was my way. Happy Birthday to you Mario! You’re Friends, The Tribe
